Ric Sloane claims that as a child he passed the time preparing for his dream of having his own carnival sideshow act, which included biting the heads off live, defenseless critters while riding a unicycle standing on his head. After a short but successful career in the carnival, he moved on to digging graves at the local cemetery, and finally to a life as a painter of his strange, personal and somewhat disturbing visions. Ric’s illustration appeared in the first edition of Graphic Classics: H.P. Lovecraft. You can view more of his work at
