French artist Dominique Signoret was born in Paris in 1964 and studied Fine Arts in Orleans. He works in illustration, computer art and sculpture, including the design of cast miniatures for role-playing games. Dominique's first exposure to Lovecraft came by way of the role-playing game The Call of Cthulhu, and in 1999 he illustrated the cover of Guide du Mythe de Cthulhu for Encrage Editions. Cthulhu’s Dreams is a series of parodic comics set in the Lovecraft universe which originally appeared in the French fanzine Sens Fiction. Le Chaos Rapant, which appears in the first edition of Graphic Classics: H.P. Lovecraft, was created in 1999, but was revised by Dominique in English for Graphic Classics. It features Lovecraft’s Nyarlathotep, known as “The Crawling Chaos,” which tranlates to French as “Le Chaos Rampant.” Dominique dropped the “m”, and Nyarlathotep became a hip-hop artist.
