Born in Bologna in 1964, Ms. Ghermandi began her career in 1985 with a comic strip published in the newspaper Reporter. Since then she has been providing cartoons and illustrations for Italian and European publications including Frigidaire, Comic Art, Linus, il Manifesto, l’Unita’, Internazionale, Einaud, Garzanti and Seul Editions. In 1993 Granata Press published her first comic book, Hiawata Pete, a collection of drawings originally published in the magazine Dolce Vita. Her other publications include Joe Indiana, il segno dei cinque, Mondo gomma, Helter Skelter, Pop 666, Plastil (volumes 1-3), and The Wipeout. Her adaptation of “One Summer Night” appeared in the first edition of Graphic Classics: Ambrose Bierce.
