MARY FLEENER

Besides doing comics, like her biweekly strip Mary-Land, autobiographical collection Life of the Party, and Eros title Nipplez ’n’ Tum Tum, Los Angeles native Mary has also produced illustrations for magazines and books such as Guitar Player, Musician, Spin, Hustler, The Book of Changes, Guitar Cookbook, RoadStrips, and Poppy Z. Brite’s Plastic Jesus. Her paintings have been shown at The American Visionary Art Museum, La Luz de Jesus Gallery, and the Laguna Beach Art Museum. She is currently painting on black velvet, and makes hand-thrown ceramics. Fleener also plays bass, and sings her own tunes in a band called The Wigbillies with her husband. She loves to surf, and walks a lot. Mary’s website is at www.maryfleener.com.
