FLORENCE LEWIS BENTLEY

Florence Lewis Bentley was the literary editor of the Philadelphia Press, and later a social leader in Chicago and the wife of Dr. C.E. Bentley, a prominent Chicago dentist. Her story, “Two Americans,” was first published in The Crisis (September 1921), the official magazine of the NAACP, founded by W.E.B. Du Bois.
