Giorgio Comolo is a professional advertising illustrator born in Varallo Sesia, Italy in 1961. American super-heroes were his steady diet as a child. As he grew, his appreciation for those larger-than-life stories became a love for the men behind them: John Romita, Gil Kane, Gene Colan, Steve Ditko and above all, Jack Kirby. Later, Comolo discovered European comics by the likes of Moebius, Caza and Jimenez and those too made a strong impression on his style. Now, as a side to his advertising work, Giorgio draws the characters that filled his life (and those of countless other fans), paying homage to the comics greats.
