Rafael Avila was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1975. He graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, and has been an adjunct drawing and illustration instructor for nearly a decade. His work has been featured in a variety of exhibits and publications for Johns Hopkins University, IMPACT Press, Parallax AF NYC, Towson Arts Collective, ArtBuzz, Razorcake Magazine, The Source Weekly, and the Mystery Review.
